Welcoming Ceremonies for New Employees Simultaneously in Five ASEAN Countries (Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam and Cambodia) on February 7, 2013.
On Thursday, February 7, Aeon Vietnam joined the organization of Aeon Welcoming New Employees Ceremonies for 300 new employees simultaneously at major cities via Internet in five ASEAN countries, namely Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, and Cambodia. The main ceremony will be held in Malaysia. The purpose of the ceremonies is to share with all new employees in ASEAN countries Aeon’s unchanging “customer first” philosophy, which has been fostered for over 250 years since its establishment. From each ceremony site, a representative from new employees will make a sworn statement. In addition, as part of the Group-wide human resource development efforts, the Aeon Code of Conduct Seminar will be held with the aim of nurturing awareness as an Aeon People.
The Ceremony is a very important movement while AEON is in its Medium-term Management Plan (covering from fiscal 2011 to fiscal 2013), Aeon positions the shift to Asian market as one of the keys of the Group-wide common strategy. In order to further promote the “Shift to Asia” strategy, AEON is placing more emphasis on recruiting people who have both local mindset and global perspective, in other words, people who are willing to contribute to the development of local communities and help local customers lead affluent lives, while at the same time thinking globally beyond national borders.Based on our fundamental management principles of “the pursuit of peace, respect for humanity, and contributions to local communities with the customer’s point of view as the core,” we will work together with new Aeon People who will join us this year to put Aeon’s unchanging “customer first” philosophy into practice in the entire Asia’s region.
