On June 30th, Aeon Mall Phnom Penh opened as the first mall-typed shopping center, as well as one of the largest shopping centers in Cambodia. Aeon has been expanding into Asia, promoting Group-wide strategy of Shifts to Asian markets in its three year Medium-term Management Plan. This mall makes Aeon’s first store in the country and aims to offer the local customers with brand-new lifestyle with an assemblage of wide-range stores including 107 shops that are first launched in the country and amusement facilities including the ice rink. Presided over by Prime Minister Hun Sen accompanied with Japanese Minister for Foreign Affairs Fumio Koshida, the opening ceremony was held with hundreds of local residents who came to share the celebration. Aeon will continue its efforts to support and enrich the everyday life of people in Cambodia.
